Aerosol technology on all seven continents

Topas products in Antarctica? We were just as surprised as you when we found out that our technology is even used at Rothera Research Station located on Adelaide Island to the west of the Antarctic Peninsula.

Almost 15.000 kilometres away from our headquarter in Dresden, Diffusion Dryer Unit DDU 570 and Aerosol Generator ATM 228 are used to calibrate an Aerosol Chemical Speciation Monitor and other instruments for a research project headed by British Antarctic Survey. The team aims to examine sources of aerosols on the Antarctic Peninsula which thus might play a role in the formation of Southern Ocean clouds and may have an impact on the global climate system.
