What to do on the first day of founding a company?
February 1st in 1992 was a sunny, cold day in Dresden. At -3 degrees Celsius, the basement rooms at Hofmannstraße 37 at least had an electric radiator and, fortunately, a coffee machine. It was the first day at work for the three founders of Topas GmbH. Without a telephone, let alone the internet, the initial focus was solely on raising money to build up the Topas company. It was completely unthinkable that 34 years later, partners from over 20 countries would come together here to discuss new product developments and future collaboration. Tomorrow is the big day, and our preparations are in full progress. We are looking forward to three exciting days of exchange, which – just like 34 years ago – will be characterised by working together to shape the future of Topas.
