“Who am I and who are my employees”?
Shortly before the summer vacations, the team managers at Topas once again focused on a particularly important topic. Under the motto “Leadership and communication tailored to the other person” the last management coaching session was very personal and honest: Focusing on self-reflection when dealing with sensitive issues. The classification of one's own behavioral style in a personality model and subsequently the different characters of the employees in one's own team. Sharing experiences not just on the surface.
Why did we do this? As a manager, it is not only important to know and correctly assess your employees, but also yourself. Reflecting on what is important to me and others in communication or what tends to cause stomach ache is essential. It helps to have even better conversations with each other in future and to formulate expectations in such a way that they are well received. It also became clear that one of the most important management tasks for raising potential is to keep focusing on the strengths of employees, to recognize positive developments and to value them.
A big thank you once again to Anne Pietag for the joint journey towards our personal talents and for the great opportunity to get to know each other in a different way.
